Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is the one Metal Gear game I always wanted to play. I never had a PlayStation 3—I had an Xbox 360 instead back in the day when Xbox was better. I did eventually get a PS4 for Bloodborne, much like Metal Gear another game that's been stuck on one console. Unfortunately, the PS4 has battery life issues, so those consoles will be unplayable soon.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear Metal Gear Solid: The Master Collection Vol. 2 will release on August 27, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This includes Metal Gear Solid 4 and Peace Walker. I already played Peace Walker on an earlier Xbox Metal Gear collection, and I would've rather had Metal Gear 4. Not that Peace Walker is a bad game—it's just best if you play The Phantom Pain first. When I tried Peace Walker before playing The Phantom Pain, the Fulton devices and base management put me off a bit.

Anyway, I'll be getting the PC version, not the Xbox one. MGS4 has meta moments where they reference it being a PS3 game, with dialogue about it being on Blu-ray so you don't have to swap discs. While it would be good to get an Xbox achievement for it, I'll be glad to finally play it. It will be great to have on a Steam Cube when I get one.
